The Malco team attended the International Roofing Expo (IRE) in Dallas, Texas, from March 7 – 9 and y’all – we had a great time. We were able to connect with people from Texas, Michigan, Washington, Pennsylvania, Italy, China, Germany and many more places. There was energy in the air as people swapped ideas, trends they’re seeing in the industry and ideas about how to build better roofs. It makes us proud to provide the tools and resources roofing pros need to do their jobs better and more efficiently than ever before.
Even as the technology and tools advance, there was one key theme that everyone we talked to shared: great service and quality work at every step of the value chain. Distributors, contractors and manufacturers alike are working hard each day to find innovative new ways to advance the roofing industry, and it was great to talk shop with everyone.
This commitment to quality is a value that is core to who we are, and we’re proud to work alongside people who share that same vision.
Launching Metal Benders by Malco
Besides connecting with everyone, the highlight for our team was the introduction of our latest built tough metal roofing tools–Metal Benders by Malco.
Malco NPD mechanical/manufacturing Engineer Austin Cash held down the fort, bending metal sheet after sheet for all three days of the show! Fun fact – we brought more test metal than normal, and we still nearly ran out! People couldn’t get enough of the benders, and we are thrilled.
They were especially excited about how lightweight they are, making them perfect for onsite bending without causing hand or arm fatigue. The fact that they’re modular was a huge hit as well! People who can’t wait to get their hands on them said that they’re most excited about a durable bender that they can trust to do the job, while they’re on the job.

More IRE Highlights
Beyond our new product, there were so many expo highlights. President and CEO, Rich Benninghoff, got to connect with industry pros, the press, podcasters and more. The team got to eat true Texan brisket and tacos and escape the Minnesota snow (hello 80 degrees!). We got to see new sustainable roofing solutions, meet with contractors doing incredible things and best of all, we got to meet with countless young people already gaining traction in their careers.
Oh… and we won an award!

We are thrilled and honored to be given a Metal of Honor as a top supplier in the industry from Metal Roofing Magazine! We don’t do what we do for awards or recognition, but it feels great to know that what we’re doing resonates across the industry.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, the team members who worked to make the booth a success and all the event coordinators, we had a great time and are more energized than ever to be building Damn Good Tools for roofers everywhere.
