About the Andy™ Line
Before diving into the specific products, here are a few fun facts about the line!
Malco brought the very first Andy snip to its portfolio in the early 1970s after acquiring the product from another manufacturer. Since then, Malco is proud to have amplified its reach to make it the go-to snip for trade professionals.
The line has always been about making the job easier and being reliable, which is why Malco has continued to release new versions to fit a variety of customer needs. For example, to make them easy to grab on the go, light gray Andy snips are prime for cutting straight lines, and Andys with the dark gray handles are versatile for all directions: straight, left and right.
To stay true to the original intention behind the product, the name Andy comes from the business that sold it, called “Anderson.” Thank you to the original “Andy” for thinking up one of the most influential tools in recent history! The Malco team is hard at work keeping that dream alive by extending the line to continue serving the trades even better year after year.

Introducing the Andy™ Aluminum Handled Offset Left Snips 12” (MC12L)
Malco’s latest Andy™ offering, the Andy Aluminum Handled Offset Left Snips 12” (MC12L), is aluminum handled offset pair of snips that’s lightweight, ergonomic and durable. The offset handle makes for a safer and more comfortable angle to reduce hand fatigue while cutting.
Tested in our internal lab, these snips have a competitive edge over similar products by:

- Producing up to 45% longer cuts when operating one-handed.
- Offering the highest maneuverability for continuous cut radii.
- Being half the size of leading competition, with better cut quality.
- Allowing for starter holes as small as ½” with a lower jaw made of investment-cast tool steel.
This versatile tool ensures that HVAC trade pros can make cuts that are longer and tighter than ever before and providing straight and left-curve cuts of the highest quality across various materials, including sheet metal, metal roofing, aluminum, stainless steel, steel siding and vinyl.
Building pros can now reduce the total number of cuts needed and decrease the total number of repetitive motions because of the full 3-inch cutting length. The upper cutting blade is easily replaceable to extend its overall life but at a cutting capacity of 20,000 cycles, the replacement need is reduced.
