FAQs
Q: What do I do if the seals on my Easy Seal hoses leak? A: Malco sells replacement seals to allow you to replace your seals in the field and extend the life of your hoses. Q: Does hose length matter when pulling a vacuum? A: Yes, the shorter the hose and the larger the diameter, such as a 3/8" MalcoEdge Turbo Flow hose will be more efficient when vacuum is pulled. Q: Can I use the same hoses with a variety of refrigerants? A: MalcoEdge hoses are compatible with popular refrigerants however we do not recommend using multiple refrigerants in the same hoses unless you take the time to flush the hoses using a product such as ACE Powerflush. Alternatively, we recommend you use different hoses for specific refrigerants to prevent cross contamination of refrigerants from oils remaining in the hoses. Q: Do I need to flush and clean my equipment when switching between refrigerants? A: Some refrigerants cannot be mixed as they use different lubricants. As a best practice, the hoses, manifolds, and other components need to be flushed using a cleaner to ensure they do not cross contaminate. We recommend flushing the system with ACE Powerflush between services. Q: What are the working and burst pressures for these hoses? A: The working pressure pressure is 800 PSI and the burst pressure is 4000 PSI. Q: What do I do if my hoses are either engaging a Schrader valve too early or not engaging a valve enough to fully open the valve? A: The core depressors are threaded. Adjust the height of the core depressor by screwing further in or out.
