The MalcoEdge RTW500 Flare Nut Torque Wrench is pre-set to deliver 40.6 ft-lbs (±4.5 ft-lbs) on 1/2″ flare nuts, helping HVACR technicians avoid the over- and under-tightening that leads to refrigerant leaks and callbacks. Its open-end claw design grips a 15/16″ hex and fits around copper tubing more easily than a socket-head torque wrench, especially in the tight spaces common on mini-split line sets. Because it’s fully mechanical, the RTW500 works in wet conditions and never needs batteries or calibration, unlike a digital torque wrench.
