Pipelounge® by Malco 24″ Pipe Support– Modular Multi-Pipe Support System for HVAC Line Sets (PL24)
The Pipelounge® by Malco PL24 24″” Pipe Support is a modular support system designed to hold multiple insulated HVAC line sets while allowing for expansion and contraction. It cushions pipes to help protect insulation and maintain proper alignment over time.
The system reduces installation complexity by eliminating the need for multiple strut components and specialized supports. Its modular design allows supports to be stacked or joined to accommodate different pipe sizes and configurations, helping reduce material use, labor time, and inventory requirements.
Rated to support up to 110 lbs without strut. Installation uses standard 3/8″ threaded rod and mounting hardware and follows conventional mounting practices. Supports should be spaced according to applicable codes or project specifications, with weather protection added for exposed installations.
Designed for efficiency and adaptability, Pipelounge provides a practical alternative to traditional pipe support methods for HVAC and mechanical applications.
FAQs
Q: What is Pipelounge? A: Pipelounge is an innovative multiple pipe support system without the need for strut. It has been developed to cushion and allow for the expansion and contraction of insulated pipe. Q: Can Pipelounge support more than insulated refrigerant lines? A: Pipelounge was developed for HVACR insulated refrigerant lines. Malco has not evaluated this product for other uses. Q: How do pipe lounge pieces connect together? A: Pipelounge can be connected horizontally using our Joining Clips for additional width. They can also stack vertically when space is at a premium. Q: What loads can Pipelounge support? A: The maximum load without metal section support is 110 lbs. For loads over 110 lbs it is a requirement to fit a standard metal section on the underside of Pipelounge. This is also a requirement when joining horizontally. Q: When should I use packers and joining clips? A: Packers: Packers are used when installing Pipelounge on strut. They are designed to sit between the strut and Pipelounge high side mounting tab and assist in a secure mount; they are also made in a bright color to allow the installer to recognize the installation is complete. Joining Clips: Joining clips are used when joining two or more Pipelounge brackets horizontally on strut. They are designed to assist in keeping the brackets together whilst positioning into their final location. Q: How far apart should I mount Pipelounge along the length of my install? A: Pipelounge should be placed at maximum intervals of 5' (60”) along the length of the supported pipework and a maximum of 8” from each change in direction. Q: Are specific nuts required to install Pipelounge? A: Flange nuts or a nut and washer are recommended above and below the installed Pipelounge. Q: What size threaded rod is required to install Pipelounge? A: 3/8” threaded rod. Q: What material are the Pipelounge made of? A: PC/ABS, which is a non-halogenated flame-resistant material Q: Are the Pipelounge products plenum rated for the 25/50 smoke rating requirement in return air spaces? A: No, the Pipelounge products are not currently plenum rated, though they are made of non-halogenated (non-toxic) PC+ABS. Pipelounge products meet UL94 classification.
