Malco honored for the 16th time with the Governor’s Workplace Safety Award
ANNANDALE, MINN. (May 12, 2026) — The Malco Group, a leading manufacturer and distributor of professional-grade HVACR and building construction products in the Americas, announced today that it has earned the 2025 Governor’s Workplace Safety Award, presented by the Minnesota Safety Council. This award recognizes and celebrates employers across Minnesota that demonstrate excellence in safety and health by protecting their workforce from injuries, illnesses and workplace incidents.

The award is presented to companies that achieve an incidence rate better than the 50th percentile of both the state and national average for your industry. Due to its safety-first culture, Malco has earned the Governor’s Safety Award 16 times in the last 21 years.
The company was presented with the Silver Achievement Award during a ceremony at the 2026 Safety & Health Conference in early May.
Key elements of Malco’s comprehensive health and safety program include:
- A robust Safety Management System, complete with annual safety goals that are shared across the organization
- An active and engaged Safety Committee that reviews safety procedures, completes additional safety trainings throughout the year and monitors progress
- Monthly full-company reviews of safety performance metrics
- Paid time for associates to participate in safety-related activities
- Regular safety inspections and safe work observations
