FAQs

Please refer to the Troubleshooting Guide if you are having any issues operating your product.

Q1
What do I do if I am having trouble getting the tool to drive itself forward?
If the roof is wet, the tool will not drive consistently — the roof must be dry before seaming panels. Other common issues are related to seaming pressure: too little pressure will cause the tool to fail to feed, while too much pressure will result in deformed or crushed finished seams.

Q2
Will correctly adjusting the pressure knobs reduce premature wear of the drive wheels?
Yes. Verify that the seaming pressure knobs are adjusted properly to achieve the desired finished seam. Over-tightening these knobs creates unnecessary contact forces on the drive wheels, which leads to premature wear.

Q3
What direction should I be operating the seamer when seaming panels?
Premature drive wheel failures are often caused by seaming panels in the incorrect direction. The drive wheels must ride along the vertical leg of the panel, and the form wheels must be positioned to close the open seam.

Q4
Will the FSXS or FSXS2 seam panels with pre-applied sealant?
Yes. The FSXS and FSXS2 will seam panels with pre-applied manufacturer sealant, provided the panels match the profile shown in the instructions.

Q5
Will the FSXS work with profiles that have a drop leg on the male side of the panel?
No. The seamer is only compatible with the 1″ and 1.5″ panel male and female profiles shown in the instruction sheet. The male leg must be a single 90-degree leg at 3/8″, and the female leg must be 1/2″ wide with a drop leg of 3/8″.
