ANNANDALE, MINN. (Nov. 11, 2025) — The Malco Group, a leading manufacturer and distributor of professional-grade HVACR and building construction products in the Americas, today announced that Chief Financial Officer Mike Hemmesch has been recognized as CFO of the Year by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. The award, for CFOs at private companies with 51-200 employees, recognizes the achievements of financial officers who play a vital role in making businesses successful.

Hemmesch’s efforts helped pave the way for Malco’s acquisition by Aspen Pumps Group in October 2024, which virtually doubled the business’s size overnight and set the company up for rapid growth and future success. His financial leadership at Malco has been instrumental in growing the company, solidifying Malco’s place as the leader in the HVACR and building construction industries, and establishing Annandale, Minn., as the Americas headquarters for the newly formed Malco Group. Hemmesch currently oversees all finance and IT initiatives for a portfolio of nine leading HVACR brands.

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal debuted the CFO of the Year Awards in 2007 to honor outstanding financial leaders at Twin Cities organizations. The 2025 award nominees were evaluated by a judging panel consisting of other financial executives and specialists, who scored them on their contributions to their companies and the broader community.
This award adds to Malco’s growing list of accolades, including the 2025 USA TODAY Top Workplaces award and the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s 2024 Medium Manufacturer of the Year.
